Job Description

General Function: 

  • Provide general assistance as determined by the department. 
Student Aide - Adult Educational Development
Duties of the Position: 
  • Greet visitors and provide customer service at the front desk.
  • Answer phone calls and assist callers.
  • Provide information about High School Equivalency (HSE) and English Language Acquisition (ELA) programs.
  • Perform data entry tasks - Sort and distribute mail.
  • File and maintain student records.
  • Keep office supplies organized and stocked.
  • Assist faculty and staff with administrative tasks.
  • Help with organizing AED events.
  • Being bilingual in Spanish is an added advantage.
Education Requirements: 
Current enrollment at Harper College with a minimum of six credits per semester (three credits for the summer semester).
Experience Requirements: 
Basic keyboarding skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office software, ability to multitask, and preferably some prior office or customer service experience.
Work Schedule: 
The part-time schedule is based on the student's availability, requiring availability during the following hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with a minimum of 5 hours and a maximum of 20 hours per week.
