**THIS POSITION IS OPEN TO WATER DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES ONLY.**

Job Description
The Business Analyst will work on projects related to Water Resources technology infrastructure and software. This position will also coordinate these projects with the Department of Information Technology Services as needed for new Water Resources technology hardware implementations, software implementations, and existing software and hardware upgrade oversight. Additionally, this position will support Water Resources’ Central Facility and the associated plants in the areas of SCADA technology and other technology initiatives.


Essential Duties
  • Communicate with stakeholders to understand their requirements.
  • Develop and analyze functional specifications.
  • Design efficient IT systems to meet business and technology needs.
  • Coordinate developers to build and implement technology solutions.
  • Integrate multiple systems and reconcile needs of different teams.
  • Gather feedback from end users about system performance.
  • Plan and oversee projects (e.g. upgrades, hardware/software installations)
  • Provide advice and technical training.
  • Keep abreast of technology trends and developments.

Grade
The grade for this position is 102. Salary will be dependent on education and experience.
 

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a closely related field; AND
  • Two years of professional analyst experience, including one year of project management experience; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. 


Preferred Qualifications in addition to the above minimum qualifications

  • Proven experience as an IT Analyst, IT Consultant or similar role
  • Experience in project management
  • Knowledge of databases, system security and troubleshooting
  • Understanding of business practices
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical mindset
  • Problem-solving aptitude
