Hardware Designer Protégé Trainee (Ref. No. R1012674)
at our location in Kuala-Lumpur
You will enjoy having these responsibilities:
- Support Engineering dep. with rebranding of drawings and engineering documents
- Participate in on site surveys alongside experienced engineers to gather technical and environmental information required for hardware signalling design.
- Assist in recording site observations, measurements, equipment locations, and installation constraints.
- Preparing site reports, as and when required.
- Proficient with the use of development tools, CAD packages (MicroStation, AutoCAD, AutoCAD electrical)
- Contributes to improvements in hardware quality
- Demonstrates initiative, and resourcefulness in solving problems
- Willingness to understand the processes and methodologies associated with managing engineering documents and drawings
- Demonstrates an advanced level of logical reasoning resulting in effective hardware application designs, products and processes
- Manage assigned tasks within schedule and budget.
- Keep track of progress on all tasks assigned to completion
- Locating and researching source documentation for design activities prior to initiating rebranding updates
- Identify problems or inefficiencies in the department’s operation and suggest improvements.
You have:
- Bachelors or master’s in electrical engineering or an equivalent engineering degree
- 0 – 2 years related work experience in the rail industry specifically in hardware signalling design
- Knowledge of CAD tools (MicroStation, AutoCAD), Bills of Materials, (SAP), Configuration Management, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Well-developed verbal skills to interact effectively and professionally in a variety of forums,
- Well-developed writing skills to effectively update instructions clearly to maintain the accuracy of the original instruction.
- Good interpersonal and diplomatic skills to deal confidently, courteously, and correctly with people at any level within the organization.
- Good technical writing skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Maintaining a high degree of professionalism in the job and in relations with others.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- AutoCAD and other similar tool experience
- Prior knowledge of a configuration management system is an asset.
