The opportunity
At Hitachi Energy, we are helping shape a more sustainable, flexible, and secure energy future. As our Strategic Partnerships Leader for North America, you will play a pivotal role in accelerating growth by developing and scaling a high-impact ecosystem of strategic partners across the region.
This is a highly visible leadership role, working closely with regional and global leaders, Business Units, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Technology teams to identify new opportunities, unlock innovative business models including as-a-service, and expand our market reach across key industries such as data centers, utilities, renewables, transportation, and industrial markets.
If you thrive in a fast-moving environment, enjoy building executive-level relationships, and have a passion for turning strategic ideas into measurable business outcomes, this is an opportunity to make a lasting impact.
How you'll make an impact
Define and execute North America's partnership and ecosystem strategy in alignment with regional and business objectives.
Develop innovative partnership models, including as-a-service offerings, digital, and other service-based platforms.
Translate market trends—including growing electricity demand, grid modernization, energy transition investments, and the rapid expansion of data centers—into actionable partnership opportunities.
Identify, develop, negotiate, and manage strategic partnerships that drive growth, enhance market access, and create new revenue streams.
Drive innovation through joint solutions, pilots, and scalable commercial initiatives.
Lead the full partnership lifecycle, from opportunity assessment and value proposition development to executive engagement, deal structuring, governance, and ongoing performance management.
Build and nurture trusted relationships with C-suite executives and senior leaders across partner organizations.
Collaborate with Sales and Business Units to ensure partnerships are integrated into go-to-market strategies and generate measurable commercial outcomes.
Conduct ecosystem and competitive analysis to identify emerging technologies, market trends, and strategic opportunities.
Influence and align diverse stakeholders across functions and Business Units without direct reporting authority.
Partner with Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams to ensure effective governance, risk management, and successful execution of partnership initiatives.
Establish KPIs, operating models, and governance frameworks to track partnership performance and long-term value creation.
Act as a champion for partnership-led growth by providing tools, frameworks, and best practices across the organization.
Your background
Bachelor's degree required; MBA or other advanced degree preferred.
10+ years of experience in strategic partnerships, business development, sales leadership, marketing, or related functions.
As-a-service experience strongly preferred, in addition to experience with other alternative business models and digital ecosystems.
Knowledge of the energy industry is highly desirable, including familiarity with power infrastructure, grids, renewables, energy technologies, and data center markets.
Proven success developing and executing growth strategies that deliver measurable business impact.
Demonstrated experience building and managing strategic partnerships from concept through execution and long-term governance.
Strong commercial acumen with experience creating new revenue streams, scaling go-to-market initiatives, and delivering growth outcomes.
Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution and operational excellence.
Experience working within complex, matrixed, and multinational organizations.
Strong executive presence with exceptional communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to engage effectively with internal and external senior leaders, including C-suite executives.
Willingness to travel up to 50%.
