Job Description

Job Overview

A rare opportunity to practise at the height of your expertise within a progressive, integrated pain service.

This Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Psychology Lead post offers senior clinicians the opportunity to combine specialist practice with genuine leadership, influence and professional space. Working within Jersey’s highly regarded Multidisciplinary Pain Service, you will lead the psychological arm of the service, delivering evidence‑based, trauma‑informed care while shaping service development alongside medical, physiotherapy, nursing and occupational therapy colleagues.

The role is intentionally balanced — supporting complex clinical work alongside research, teaching and training, within a healthcare system that values professional judgement, agility and collaboration. For clinicians seeking a sustainable next chapter — whether advancing leadership, consolidating an academic career, returning home from overseas or redefining late‑career practice — this position offers the chance to do meaningful, high‑quality work in an environment where impact is visible and professional contribution is truly valued, complemented by Jersey’s exceptional quality of life and work–life balance.

Bring your expertise to Jersey’s highly regarded Multidisciplinary Pain Service as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist / Psychology Lead, combining professional autonomy and clinical leadership with the chance to make a tangible difference to people living with persistent pain. Working as an integral member of the multidisciplinary leadership team alongside Occupational Therapy, Medical, Nursing and Physiotherapy colleagues, you will lead the psychological arm of the service, delivering specialist individual assessment and intervention, facilitating group programmes, and acting as an expert resource across the wider team.

This role integrates contemporary pain science and trauma‑informed care with real opportunity to influence service development, research, teaching and training, with strong support for appropriate clinical supervision and flexible career pathways for clinicians who wish to balance clinical practice with academic or research interests. Our psychology team is fortunate to work within a well‑established, forward‑thinking and collaborative service that values innovation, evidence‑based practice and partnership working, including close links with Pain Support Jersey, ensuring the role remains diverse, engaging and impactful. This post would suit an established Consultant who has achieved a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (D.ClinPsych) and is seeking a rewarding career move where their leadership directly influences patient outcomes.

Beyond the role, Jersey offers a unique lifestyle with a privileged work–life balance, breathtaking scenery, a safe and inclusive community and the opportunity to enjoy sandy beaches, mild winters and an exceptional quality of life. You’ll be part of a values‑driven organisation delivering world‑class healthcare, with a generous relocation package and the opportunity to experience the extraordinary impact of your expertise and care every single day.
