Who will you be working with?

The PTC Onboard Systems Engineering team consists of skilled engineers and analysts who work collaboratively with customers and development teams to identify and capture system requirements for the Brazilian railway network and internationally.

How will you make a difference?

As a Systems Engineer within PTC Systems Engineering, you will support providing system level technical guidance to the PTC engineering team during all phases of Onboard PTC Application product development (requirements definition, safety assessment, software development, test, validation, and commissioning) to ensure that new systems and products meet customer needs and applicable standards compliance.

What do we want to know about you?

• Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in Systems Engineering and/or product development, including software, hardware, integration, testing, or validation activities.
• Experience with requirements management, configuration management, and defect tracking tools such as IBM ELM, DOORS Next, Rational Team Concert, RequisitePro, Telelogic Change, SharePoint, SVN, or equivalent platforms.
• Knowledge of Systems Engineering principles, including requirements development, system integration, verification and validation, and interface management.
• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and modeling languages such as SysML or UML.
• Familiarity with INCOSE Systems Engineering practices, standards, or certifications (ASEP, CSEP) is desirable.
• Experience with safety-critical systems and familiarity with applicable industry standards and assurance processes, including CENELEC, is considered a strong asset.
• Experience in railway, aerospace, automotive, defense, industrial automation, or other regulated industries is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and troubleshooting skills, with a hands-on approach to problem solving.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and results-driven, with a strong commitment to quality and continuous learning.

What will your typical day look like?

• Specification of detailed system requirements, behavioral models, and interface definitions
• Input requirements on doors system
• Work in documentantion updates an version control
• Participation in requirement and design reviews with customers and development teams
• Verification of pass/fail criteria for critical functions and tests specified by the validation team
• Support of interworking between the PTC and other products
• Drive technical issues to resolution
• Support hands-on troubleshooting and validation in a lab environment or in the field
• Occasional travel to locomotive builders and customer locations to provide system expertise and support of new or existing products.
