
Associate, Debt Finance Practice
Job Description
Position Summary
Join as an Associate, our dynamic Debt Finance team in Brussels, where you’ll work on high-profile, multijurisdictional transactions for corporates and sovereigns. You’ll collaborate with colleagues across our global network, gaining exposure to cutting-edge financing matters and ground-breaking deals. From day one, you’ll be supported by leading practitioners and multi-disciplinary teams, including M&A, Capital Markets, Financial Services and Project Finance.
Role Responsibilities
Lead and manage deal processes from initial discussions through closing and post-closing
Draft, review, and negotiate commitment letters, term sheets, loan and security documentation, and ancillary deliverables.
Conduct complex legal research, prepare memoranda, and manage legal due diligence.
Act as primary point of contact for clients, opposing counsel, and transactional teams.
Support clients with ongoing deal administration, including amendments and collateral matters.
Mentor junior team members and participate in continuing education and client development initiatives.

Candidate profile
You are a great fit if you have:
At least three years of experience at a leading international law firm (peer firm), focusing on corporate finance, debt capital markets and/or financial services transactions.
Strong academic credentials and intellectual curiosity.
Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
Commercial awareness and ability to see the big picture.
Strong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple projects.
Resilient and self-confident.
Proactive, resourceful, takes initiative.
Fluency in English, combined with fluency in French and/or Dutch.
International experience a plus (working experience and/or academic qualifications).
