
Logistics Specialist Supervisor
Job Description
As the Logistics Specialist Supervisor, you will work very closely with the Logistics Manager in leading all aspects of domestic transportation for ICL. Responsibilities include maintaining effective relationships with carriers, transportation management system, driving high standards of performance, meeting regulatory compliance, managing/developing staff, and driving continuous improvement. Work closely with ICL Procurement on freight RFQ process and contracts. You will also work cross functionally to ensure the Transportation provides best in class service to ICL’s internal and external customers.

- Subject Matter Expert for all aspects of transportation operations supporting day-to-day operational escalations for Transportation Planners.
- Provide input and assist when needed for RFQ and new carriers
- Develop KPIs to track TMS utilization and performance with triggers for escalation to stakeholders.
- Participate in routine carrier performance review cadence in conjunction with the Logistics Manager.
- Identify process improvement opportunities, documenting existing Transportation processes and procedures using SOPs, Process Maps, GOPs, etc.
- Lead cross-training efforts across the Logistics Team, able to serve as short term coverage during planned or unplanned OOO times.
- Lead investigator and dispute manager for customer complaints.
- Primary point of contact between ICL and TMS provider as ICL TMS Lead.
- Primary point of contact between Logistics and IT to support continuous improvement efforts within Logistics.
- Owner for end-to-end management of freight claim management and billable recoveries.
- Building process to ensure freight costs quoted and charged to customers are routinely reviewed with sales to ensure pricing is aligned with current rates.
- Supervision and development of subordinates
- Oversight and management of all truck carriers
- Review carrier performance on an on-going basis and request corrective actions as necessary
- Serve as backup when necessary for subordinate roles

- Willingness and availability to support weekend calls on an as-needed basis
What skills and experience do I need to be successful in this role?
- A high school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of logistics experience is required
- Customer Service experience preferred
- Must be detail oriented with a high degree of accuracy
- Demonstrated track record of success in managing complex, cross-functional activities
- Strong focus on continuous improvement of systems and processes
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business orientation and understanding of business processes
- Supplier relationship and project management skills
- SAP experience
- TMS experience
- Demonstrate a high sense of urgency and responsiveness to meet business demands
- Capable of managing and juggling multiple priorities
