Back to jobsSupervise and control the train movement on the main line by utilising various computerised tools to ensure trains adhere to predetermined schedules, monitor the movement of trains on the control console, assess delays and implement change to rectify the situations, avoid trains bunching up and to ensure the safety of operations;
Liaise with Roster Planner, Timetable Planner and Depot engineers to ensure availability of train and train crew to cater for unexpected events;
Report incidents, failures or events that impact on safety and/or service performance to the Chief Controller in a timely and clear manner;
Coordinate service start-up, shut-down with the Chief Controller, Engineering Controller, Depot Controller, and Train Crew Supervisor;
Inform the Chief Controller of any operating conditions deviating from normal conditions;
Direct Station Masters and Train Attendants during incidents and emergencies, monitor passenger levels at platforms via the CCTV system and regulate the service to mitigate capacity problems and overcrowding;
Manage and modify on-line timetable to cater for unexpected events;
Perform shift and emergency duties when required;
Perform and carry out other duties as instructed/directed by the Chief Controller and Control Centre Duty Manager.
