Supervise and direct work of all production shift employees to ensure safe and efficient operations.
Lead production personnel by example in the areas of personal & food safety. Correct unsafe acts of employees as appropriate working with the HR team to follow progressive corrective action.
Work with the sanitation supervisor to ensure all food processing equipment and areas are clean and ready for the next shifts production.
Training of employees.
Supervise and assure compliance with HACCP programs. Monitor and promote food safety in the plant. Address food safety concerns in an appropriate manner and timeframe.
Maintain an open line of communication with management and all employees.
Operate the production areas in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices as well as other company procedures and guidelines.
Ensure that appropriate records for all phases of production/sanitation are accurate and maintained according to company policies and procedures.
In the off-season, be involved with a number of process improvement projects, safety projects, and maintenance activities.
Work directly with the maintenance supervisor to develop timelines, work orders, and proper execution to achieve plant readiness prior to the start of the season.
Assist management and maintenance supervisor in the development, planning, quoting, and execution of capital and major maintenance projects.
May perform other duties as assigned by Operations Manager.
