Lead incident analysis process/reporting and manage open claims closure.
Conduct plant inspections, maintain all inspection records and ensure any unsafe or potentially hazardous conditions are immediately addressed.
Organize and ensure initial and ongoing required/related safety training. Participate in new hire orientations.
Budget, purchase and maintain Personal Protective Equipment.
Build and maintain the location’s safety management system (SMS).
Maintain and keep the OSHA 300 log up to date. Post required summary report and complete yearly electronic filing. Send in annual SARA title III report on hazardous chemicals stored on site.
Ensure that the monthly safety numbers report and safety action correction plan is updated and entered monthly.
Conduct and document safety observations on a regular basis and perform daily surveillance checks.
Maintain an on the floor safety presence.
Participate in Corporate audits, insurance audits, property loss control audits, fire department inspections and OSHA inspections.
Maintain and update the emergency action plan, PPE hazard assessment, JSAs, SDS sheets, etc.
Conduct emergency drills.
Conduct lockout/tagout audits and ensure specific LOTO procedures are accurate and up to date.
Be involved in new equipment purchases and ensure equipment is properly guarded before ownership takes place.
Organize and maintain safety team meetings on a regular basis.
