SPECIALIST, INSTRUCTIONAL LEADERSHIP SUPPORT
38G (School Support Administrator, 0515)
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Under the direction of the Director, Educational Technology and Innovation, the duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Assists in the collection and organization of data from schools in each region to provide feedback in instructional shifts
- Assists in developing and delivering change management plans to principals and leadership teams to provide tools and resources to manage change
- Assists in the development and implementation of a Communication Management Plan regarding instructional technology and innovation initiatives
- Assists in the planning of the California content standards technology and the development of communications to stakeholders
- Collaborates with the Director, Educational Technology and Innovation and Administrative Coordinator, Instructional Leadership Support to develop presentations to regions, schools, office personnel, and vendors regarding the Office of EdTech Innovation to support planning, management, and technology integration into instruction
- Assists in the coordination of District-wide training regarding instructional technology initiatives and programs
- Assists in the Change Impact Analysis and develops plans reflective of the data
- Reviews training materials, reference guides, memoranda, and user newsletters
- Assists with review and analysis of District policies related to the integration of instructional technology into teaching and learning
- Assists in the design and delivery of professional development to school leadership teams around change management methodologies to support the instructional shifts around learner agency
- Performs other duties as assigned
SALARY:
Salary: 38G, (School Support Administrator, 0515) – A Basis ($131,068 – $163,154) – 261 paid days
- In the case of an annualized employee who is changing basis during the year, this change may result in an annualized “settlement” (i.e., the process by which the District resolves an under or overpayment).
- For employees who change basis during the school year, this basis change may prevent them from earning a full year of service credit.
- Selected individual may be subject to displacement due to norm allocation and seniority-based RIF provisions or due to budget limitations.
- This position is deemed certificated under Education Code Section 44065, but may not qualify for "creditable service" under Education Code Section 22119.5 for CalSTRS benefits. However, if the candidate chosen for the position is already a CalSTRS member, he/she can fill out an election form to remain in CalSTRS and thereby obtain CalSTRS credit for this service.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- At least five (5) years of successful, full-time public school service in a certificated position(s)
- A valid California Administrative Services Credential
- An earned master’s degree or advanced degree of at least equivalent standard conferred by a regionally-accredited college or university
- Completion of required Multicultural Education and Master Plan coursework*

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience implementing technology integration to enhance student outcomes and learning
- Full English Learner Authorization (BCLAD, CLAD, ELA1, Bilingual Authorization, or equivalent) or fluency in a foreign language
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and has experience managing resistance throughout a change cycle
- Excellent written communication skills
- Advanced computer and technology skills
- Ability to be flexible, adaptable, and resourceful to ensure the instructional technology program offers an effective teaching and effective learning best practices model in support of student success
- Ability to be persistent, creative, and collaborative in establishing relationships and building partnerships among all stakeholders
- Ability to demonstrate how using technology through 21st century teaching and learning will ensure all students will be college and career ready
- Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of an organization, listen to others, and to accept feedback
- Ability to travel to various sites throughout the District
