Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:  Supervises and coordinates activities of production workers; trains production workers in all aspects of job requirements. Verify that scrap criteria is correct and has been mutilated beyond repair. Inspect products to verify conformance to specs and directs set-up and adjustments of machines. Study production schedules and estimates worker hour required for completion of job assignment. Implement approved company policies and interpret same to workers and enforce safety regulations. Interpret specifications, blueprints, and job orders to workers and assigns duties. Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production schedules. Run productivity events to improve production methods, equipment performance and quality of product. Contain or reduce business costs. Responsible for On Time Delivery, Turn Around Time, Inventory levels and Quality escapes. Sustain and improve 5S levels Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew. Analyze and resolve work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems. Initiate or suggest plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals. Maintain time and production records. Manage employee time keeping in the ADP system in a timely manner Coordinate employee needs with HR; use the Agile 1 system for temporary workers Coordinate communications with HR; ensures employee communications at Tier I meetings Estimate, produce requisitions, and inspect materials. Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments. Work with production control personnel to ensure customer requirements and schedules are met. Establish Production Schedules to meet customer On Time Delivery. Maintain monthly OME Budget. Conduct formal and informal training sessions. Interview job applicants. Perform other tasks in the facility as needed.   EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:    The specific EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE requirements of this position are:   Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent education and/or equivalent experience 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory role within the manufacturing environment     The specific SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE required for this position are:   Mid-level math skills Ability to read and write in English Ability to operate various machinery   The leadership SKILLS required for this position are:   Demonstrate and lead with Chromalloy front line leadership competencies: Set priorities and plan work Manage conflict Provide feedback and recognition Motivate and build the team Communicate effectively across the organization Deliver results and drive improvements; guide the team to keep their commitments, assure delivery on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis  Display and promote a positive, professional attitude across the organization Model an organized, thoughtful manner while demonstrating company values Conduct employee performance reviews, work with HR to coach employees, administer disciplinary actions, PIP’s, warnings and other employee relations issues   Work with all members to facilitate product flow  Communicate needs of the team to production manager; inform production manager of shortfalls immediately  Must be fully reliable to accept and complete tasks Be willing to accept and adapt to changes in shifts, work days, and tasks Accept responsibility to ensure acceptable productivity of the entire team  Implement and maintain lean practices Actively participate and lead CPEX and LEAN events, attend company functions
