Job Description
Purpose of the job
The Account Director is responsible for the development and nurturing of a retail account. This role is essential in strengthening relationships with the client and identifying growth opportunities for the business as well as ensuring solutions are developed and delivered on time and against operational and financial business targets.
The Account Director will take full responsibility for the strategic and operational management of the accounts under their responsibility and managing the performance of their team, ensuring all work is completed in line with the SLA. This individual also needs to be a strong leader who can focus on the vision and strategies of the account, balance daily support needs with long-term strategy and successfully combine vision and reality into effective plans.
We are seeking a candidate with an in-depth experience of working with clients to drive the Client Services team and deliver ongoing solutions to resolve Client challenges. The perfect candidate will have retail experience with a proven track record for developing Clients, nurturing relationships and converting opportunities as well a team management experience.
The areas of spend under influence for this FMCG brand are Temporary Point of Sale Materials (POSM) and Branded Merchandise.
This role operates on a blended basis between the local HH Global office, client / vendor site and home as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
Lead delivery of client satisfaction through effective liaison, internal coordination, and supplier management
Drive operational excellence across all areas of account delivery
Partner with the Regional Account Director to manage on-site and off-site account teams, ensuring compliance with company procedures
Support team development through appraisals, one-to-ones, mentoring, and training
Take ownership of issue resolution, including quality concerns and corrective actions
Develop and implement growth strategies to expand client opportunities
Collaborate on annual client development plans with the Regional Account Director
Deliver against and exceed agreed growth targets
Oversee account financial performance, including risk analysis and mitigation
Identify account risks and implement strategies to manage them effectively
Manage contract reviews and renewals
Build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and key decision-makers
Produce regular management information (MI) reports and account relationship plans
Knowledge, Skills + Experience
Extensive experience in client service management, including on-site client engagement
Strong people management capability, including performance management and team leadership
Proven experience managing client service plans, KPIs, budgets, and forecasts
Demonstrated track record in operational management of client services functions
Significant experience building and maintaining strong client relationships
Skilled in account planning and delivering strategies for retention, growth, and value creation
Proven success in client and contract management
Ability to anticipate business challenges and develop effective risk mitigation strategies
Experience managing departmental financials and large P&L budgets
Strong understanding and application of performance improvement methodologies
Experience working in fast-paced retail environments
Confident presenting to senior leadership and board-level stakeholders
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence at all levels
Strong communication skills across verbal, written, and presentation formats
Essential Criteria
Experience in an Account Director positions looking after multiple markets
Experience working with FMCG brands
Strong knowledge of Temporary Point of Sale Materials (POSM) and Branded Merchandise
Fluent in French and English
