Accounts Manager

Description
Key Responsibilities
- Working on a portfolio of clients, primarily GP practices, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of accounts and reports
- Allocate work effectively, monitor progress, and escalate issues to Directors as needed
- Plan and manage deadlines, including lifecycle planning for all clients in the portfolio
- Prepare and review practice accounts, drawings, tax projections, and pensions estimates to a high standard
- Ensure files are complete, accurate, and reviewed before Director or Partner sign-off
- Provide technical guidance and updates to the team
- Keep up-to-date with accounting standards and developments in the healthcare sector
- Act as a senior point of contact for clients in the portfolio
- Attend client meetings and resolve queries efficiently
- Maintain visibility of all services provided, including bookkeeping, TIS, pension, incorporation, and advisory services
- Support business development initiatives including client pitches and presentations
- Identify opportunities for new clients or services and collaborate with Directors and Partners
- Coach team members to recognise potential business opportunities
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- ACCA/ACA qualified or equivalent
- Demonstratable experience of portfolio management within an accountancy practice
- Strong experience preparing accounts and complex client deliverables
- Excellent attention to detail, organisational skills, and ability to manage deadlines
- Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with clients and stakeholders
- Strong leadership skills, able to motivate and develop a team
- Commercially aware and client-focused, able to identify opportunities within a portfolio
- Medical or healthcare sector experience is desirable but not essential
