Description
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare statutory accounts for a portfolio of SME and owner-managed business clients, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
- Review the work of junior team members, offering guidance, mentorship, and ongoing support to help them develop.
- Build lasting client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor and sounding board for business decisions.
- Manage your workload effectively to meet deadlines while maintaining hgh standards.
- Identify opportunities to add value, whether through improving processes, offering insights, or supporting business growth.
- Collaborate with managers, partners, and other teams to deliver a seamless client experience.
- Stay up to date with changes in accounting standards and industry developments, bringing fresh insight to your work.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- AAT Level 4 qualified or ACA/ACCA part-qualified, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a practice environment.
- Strong experience in preparing statutory accounts for SMEs and owner-managed businesses.
- Good working knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
- Confident reviewing work and supporting junior team members with clear, constructive feedback.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and explain financial information clearly to non-finance clients.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritise effectively.
- Commercial awareness and a proactive mindset, with the confidence to identify opportunities to add value for clients.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
