The incumbent is responsible for obtaining, managing and maintaining the spectrum regulatory approvals required for Telesat’s space segment, including licences issued by Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED), the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), and other relevant authorities. 

The role supports the regulatory framework underpinning Telesat’s GSO satellites and NGSO constellation, including management of related filings with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU); support to engineering-led frequency coordination activities and regional or ITU contributions, and preparation of responses to Canadian and U.S. consultations and proceedings relating to satellite communications and associated policies.
