JOB SUMMARY:
The Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist performs high-quality CT imaging procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment under the supervision of a qualified radiologist. This role ensures patient safety, image quality, and compliance with radiology standards while providing a supportive and professional patient experience.
Schedule:
- PRN / As Needed. This role supports coverage for vacations, sick leave, and peak imaging demand. Opportunities may include weekday and occasional weekend shifts.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Prepare CT suite, equipment, contrast media, and supplies necessary for procedures.
- Explain procedures to patients and provide care that supports both physical and emotional needs while in radiology.
- Obtain and document relevant clinical history and indications for CT imaging in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Perform CT scans in accordance with physician orders and radiology protocols.
- Start IVs and administer contrast agents when appropriate.
- Produce high-quality diagnostic images for interpretation by the supervising radiologist.
- Ensure adherence to safety, regulatory, and imaging standards.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of radiology standards and regulatory requirements (OSHA, CMS, Joint Commission).
- Knowledge of HIPAA and patient privacy requirements.
- Strong communication skills with patients, providers, and care teams.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work efficiently in a clinical environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional demeanor.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
- Ability to represent Think in a professional and patient-centered manner.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology or related field required.
- Minimum three (3) years of CT experience required.
- ARRT (R) certification required.
- ARRT (CT) certification required.
- Nebraska Medical Radiographer License required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
- Experience with venipuncture and IV contrast administration preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
- This role operates in a healthcare setting.
- Must be able to:
- Stand 55% or longer of an 8-hour workday.
- Walk 35% of an 8-hour workday.
- Sit 10% of an 8-hour workday.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
- Requires employee to: Bend, squat, kneel and reach above shoulder level occasionally.
- Requires repetitive use of hands for: Simple grasping, fine manipulation, computer use
- Requires all sensory skills (speech, vision, smell, touch, and hearing) corrected to near normal range.
