The Facilities Technician performs work to ensure a clean, safe, and aesthetically pleasing exterior to Wake County’s Downtown buildings and parking decks. Primary Duties: Transport and operate sweeper trucks, sweeper scrubber machines and power equipment such as blowers, power washer and vacuums as well as miscellaneous hand tools to clean hard surfaces Pick up leaves and trash, clean ash urns and change trash liners at various locations Clean interior lobbies, foyers, elevators and stairways. Remove graffiti from interior and exterior of buildings Clean and perform preventative maintenance on equipment and maintain records Prepare county property for adverse weather, civil protests and unplanned events Apply brine, salt and deicing compounds Clean up and restore county properties after damage due to natural events, civil protests or other unplanned events
