Overview The Medical Director is the scientific lead for assigned brands, responsible for ensuring all work is clinically accurate, strategically grounded, and medically defensible. This role partners cross-functionally to translate complex science into clear, compelling, and compliant marketing programs. Responsibilities Scientific Leadership Own the scientific integrity of all brand materials, ensuring accuracy, relevance, and compliance Interpret clinical data, literature, and competitive dynamics to inform brand strategy Lead regulatory review discussions and resolve medical and clinical feedback Support creation of scientific/strategic POVs and competitive insights Cross-Functional Partnership Proactively partner with Creative, Strategy, and Account teams to ensure ideas are grounded in clinical reality Contribute to briefs, concepts, and campaign development from a scientific perspective Educate internal teams and clients on disease states, products, and emerging data Client facing responsibilities Content & Quality Oversight Review and refine medical claims, references, and content for accuracy and clarity Collaborate with writers and editors to strengthen scientific storytelling Ensure all materials meet medical, legal, and regulatory (MLR) standards Team Leadership & Development Mentor Associate Medical Directors and medical team members Support onboarding, training, and scientific knowledge sharing Reinforce quality and consistency across deliverables Business & Growth Contribution Support new business efforts and pitch development Provide scientific input to expand existing client relationships Identify opportunities to deepen medical partnership across accounts Other important features for this role: Meet and adhere to project deadlines and be comfortable with ambiguity at times Excellent communication (verbal and written) and presentation skills required - articulate and contextualized to the intended audience Strong soft skills in working with colleagues, clients and cross functional partners Manage competing priorities and be adaptable to change when needed Qualifications Advanced degree in life sciences or healthcare (MD, PhD, PharmD, or equivalent) Experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical communications, or healthcare agency environments Experience supporting oncology business desired [especially prostate, lung or breast cancer experience] Strong understanding of medical literature, clinical data, and pharma marketing regulations Demonstrated ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams Additional information Our Publicis Groupe motto “Viva La Différence” means we’re better together, and we believe that our differences make us stronger. Compensation Range: $106,780.00 - $170,937.00 annually. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Temporary roles may be eligible to participate in our freelancer/temporary employee medical plan through a third-party benefits administration system once certain criteria have been met.
