Responsibilities
Shift: 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM - 10:30 PM, Monday - Friday
Shift Premium: 10% of your base salary added to regularly determined earnings for all work performed.
Summary
Responsible for the surface preparation and painting process; utilized pneumatic tools and equipment in the performance of aircraft painting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Pre-paint preparatory tasks, including, but not limited to, sanding/ abrading, washing, masking, etc.
• Read and interpret Technical Data Sheets to safely mix paints following specifications.
• Paint various hydraulic assemblies and components utilizing pneumatic spray gun while following work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Identification and application of parts technical markings, decals, spray masks, stencils, etc. as required to facilitate the painting process.
• Work with hazardous chemicals such as Acetone, Alcohol, HFE-72DE, paints, sealants, bonding solvents paint strippers, solvents, and paint thinners. May involve prolonged exposure to caustic oils such as Hyjis et IV. Some heavy lifting required.
• Monitoring and verifying quality with manufacturing planning, quality plans, and engineering drawings
• Meeting production deadlines by following manufacturing schedule and procedures
• Working with support resources and cell leaders to resolve production problems when they arise.
• Maintaining a safe working environment by adhering to safety policies, contributing to risk mitigation management teams, and keeping all work areas clean.
• Contributing to team effort by maintaining a positive attitude.
• Continuously striving to find ways to make manufacturing process more efficient and effective
• Contributing to the overall effectiveness of the assembly department through participation in FOD, 5S, TPM, PM, and Process Improvement programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent required.
Painter 1
- Prior hands-on spray-painting experience in a comparable industrial environment preferred.
Painter 2
- Paint experience including 2 years of actual hands‑on spray‑painting or 2 years of proven proficiency in a comparable industrial environment.
Painter 3
- Paint experience including 4 years of actual hands‑on spray‑painting or 4 years of proven proficiency in a similar industrial environment.
Basic understanding of the following preferred:
- General mathematics and ability to apply basic math concepts
- Use of precision measuring devices
- Reading part drawings/blueprints, including dimensioning and tolerancing
- Intermediate computer skills
Position Pay Range: $18.63 - $30.00/Hour. Hiring range and position pay range may differ, commensurate with education, qualifications, and experience.
