
Warehouse Operator Day Shift
Job Description
Position Summary:
Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, the Warehouse Operator is responsible for the safe, efficient transportation of raw materials, packaging and finished goods within the plant and warehouse in accordance with General Manufacturing Practices (GMP) requirements.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Pick and stage raw materials needed for production.
- Loading of finished products for dispatch.
- Unloading inbound trucks and receiving inbound materials.
- Order picking.
- Making, transporting, and storing skids.
- Replenish packaging, ingredients, and pallets as per production schedule and on demand.
- Replace, remove, and replenish all packaging, ingredients, pallets, and finished goods as required during product changeovers.
- Stocking and re-stocking released raw materials from manufacturing and hold areas.
- Perform general housekeeping for production lines to ensure safe, efficient and clean maintenance of work areas i.e. removal of excess supplies and pallets.
- Basic maintenance checks on forklift equipment.
- Perform cycle counting, ensuring accurate counts Inform supervisor of potential production material problems, including delay in shipment, inventory shortages, damages, and errors.
- Handling internal inquiries and help in locating and delivering materials.
- Inspect for quality, quantity and correct material, conformity to existing material already in stock and WHMIS labelling, if applicable.
- Accurate & timely reporting of all quality issues.
- Perform other tasks as required.
- Follow all proper maintenance, sanitation, and Health & Safety protocols always.
- Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and general housekeeping
Education and Experience:
- Minimum of 1-year of experience required in warehouse or equivalent environment
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Forklift Certifications and experience working on Counterbalance and Narrow Aisle Deep Reach Equipment required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Able to perform above duties in a fast-paced environment.
- Able to work in cold environment (cooler/freezer) for limited periods of time.
- Able to multi-task, prioritize and problem solving.
- Able to operate material handling equipment in a safe manner, consistent with established procedures, including maintaining forklift batteries, conducting daily circle checks, and completing required documentation.
- Good knowledge of inventory control and order picking.
- Able to count, sort, code, and record information as required for inventory control.
- Good knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, Health & Safety procedures, including, OH&S Act & WHMIS, JDE, RF Scanning, Basic Computer Skills.
- Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Work cooperatively with co-workers and supervisors as a Quality Focused, Service Oriented Team Player.
