Job Description

  • Conduct the development, simulation, and validation of the rotor of the wind turbine (aerofoil, blade, addons, rotor aerodynamic integration) to improve performance in different wind conditions
  • Work with Xfoil, CFD and BEM tools to simulate airflow around airfoils/wind turbine blades and study their aerodynamic behavior including the impact of manufacturing tolerances, protection for the blade's front edge and vortex generators
  • Participate in end-to-end design of blade geometries, from airfoil selection and chord distribution, twist optimization based on a set of requirements
  • Be responsible in organizing wind tunnel campaigns to investigate a given problem/solution
  • Develop and refine computational models to predict wind turbine performance under different circumstances
  • Participate in team meetings and collaborate with experienced engineers to integrate aerodynamic insights into blade designs, working closely with other disciplines as loads & control, blade structures and assembly & finish gaining a holistic view of the wind turbine design
