Principal Scientist
Job Description
MSTS is looking for a dynamic Principal Scientist to support the Aerial Measuring System (AMS) program. AMS is a program within the Department of Energy's Nuclear Emergency Support Team (NEST) that supports state, local, tribal, territorial, and national governments during a radiological emergency. AMS provides specialized airborne radiation detection systems to provide real-time highly sensitive measurements of radiation. The AMS team consists of scientists, technicians, pilots, and ground support personnel. These trained experts oversee maintaining a state of readiness to respond to a radiological emergency at any time. They are also responsible for conducting training and participating in exercise activities. This position is located at the Remote Sensing Laboratory-Andrews (RSL-A), on Joint Base Andrews in Maryland.
