DRC CWG Programmatic Co-Chair - CashCap

In the Democratic Republic of the Congo, protracted conflict, displacement, market disruption, and repeated shocks continue to shape humanitarian needs, particularly in the eastern provinces. Cash and voucher assistance has become a core response approach, with multipurpose cash assistance now recognised as a standalone component of the national Humanitarian Needs and Response Plan.

NORCAP is partnering with GiveDirectly, OCHA, NRC and other members of the national Cash Working Group to strengthen coordinated, high‑quality cash responses that are evidence‑based, inclusive, and accountable to communities. To support this effort, NORCAP is deploying a senior cash coordination expert to co‑lead the national Cash Working Group and strengthen the quality, coherence, and leadership of multipurpose cash assistance across the response.
