Job Description
Position Summary
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing high-quality food items in accordance with recipes, standards, and safety guidelines. This role supports daily kitchen operations by maintaining consistency, efficiency, and cleanliness while working as part of the BOH team.
Key Responsibilities
Food Preparation & Execution
- Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and presentation standards
- Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies
- Ensure food quality, temperature, and timing meet restaurant standards
- Assist with prep work, including chopping, portioning, and marinating
Kitchen Operations
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workstation
- Follow proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures
- Assist with opening and closing duties as assigned
- Communicate effectively with kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow
Teamwork & Compliance
- Follow instructions from Chefs and BOH leadership
- Work efficiently under pressure during high-volume service
- Adhere to company policies, health regulations, and safety standards
- Support BOH team members as needed
Qualifications
- Prior line cook or kitchen experience preferred
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Lift up to 50 lbs
- Work in hot, fast-paced kitchen environments
