What to Expect

The FinOps Analyst is responsible for establishing and operating a comprehensive Cloud and SaaS Financial Management (FinOps) practice across a multi‑cloud and SaaS ecosystem, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Dialog flow, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and key enterprise SaaS platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Cisco cloud services, Salesforce, and other subscription‑based technologies. This role partners closely with Cloud Engineering, Architecture, Finance, Procurement, Security, and Application teams to ensure cloud and SaaS consumption is cost‑efficient, well‑governed, transparent, and aligned to business priorities during the migration from on‑premise data centers and throughout steady‑state operation

What You Will Do

1.      FinOps Strategy & Operating Model

·        Establish and support the development and ongoing maturity for the FinOps operating model spanning IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS environments.

·        Implement and maintain cost governance standards across AWS, GCP, OCI, and enterprise SaaS platforms.

·        Partner with engineering and architecture teams to incorporate cost considerations into design and migration decisions.

·        Maintain and update FinOps playbooks, policies, dashboards, and operating procedures.

·        Drive continuous improvements and standardization.

2.      Cloud Cost Optimization & Controls

·        Execute and track cost optimization initiatives across AWS, Google Dialog flow, and Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, including right‑sizing, capacity planning, and service tier selection.

·        Govern SaaS spend optimization for platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Cisco cloud services, Salesforce, and similar vendors.

·        Support management of commitments (e.g., Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, committed use discounts) and track SaaS contract utilization.

·        Define and enforce tagging and metadata standards to support chargeback/showback across cloud and SaaS services.

·        Identify process improvements to enhance cost transparency.

3.      Financial Planning, Forecasting & Reporting

·        Establish and manage cloud and SaaS spend forecasting by analyzing usage trends supporting migration waves, modernization initiatives, and steady state growth.

·        Provide executive‑level reporting on multi‑cloud and SaaS spend, trends, savings realized, and optimization opportunities.

·        Translate usage and consumption data into financial insights for Technology and Finance leadership.

·        Identify process improvements to enhance forecasting accuracy.

4.      Governance, Risk & Audit Support

·        Partner with Finance, Risk, Compliance, and Vendor Management to ensure financial controls extend across cloud and SaaS platforms.

·        Support audits by preparing documentation and evidence related to billing, subscriptions, and consumption controls.

·        Ensure alignment to enterprise financial policies and contract governance standards.

·        Identify process improvements to enhance financial governance maturity

5.      Cross‑Functional Enablement & Vendor Collaboration

·        Help enable engineering, operations, and application teams with cost‑aware best practices and usage guidance.

·        Collaborate with Procurement and Vendor Management on cloud provider and SaaS vendor commercial agreements.

·        Serve as the key FinOps contact, coordinating inputs across Technology, Finance, and vendors.

What You Will Bring

·        Minimum 5 -7 years of related experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, or IT financial analysis, including hands-on experience with cloud cost reporting, allocation, and optimization in a large-scale enterprise environment.

·        Experience supporting data center exit and cloud migration programs.

·        Experience in financial services, automotive finance, banking, or regulated industries preferred

·        Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

·        FinOps Foundation Practitioner or Professional certification preferred.

·        AWS Cloud Practitioner or Associate level certification preferred.

·        ITIL Foundation certification preferred.

·        Strong knowledge of AWS billing, pricing models, and cost management tools (Cost Explorer, Budgets, CUR, etc.).

·        Proven experience establishing tagging, chargeback/showback, and cost allocation models.

·        Strong understanding of cloud migration financial impacts and hybrid cost models.

·        Ability to translate technical cloud usage into financial insights for executive audiences.

·        Demonstrated ownership of forecasting + governance + optimization, not just reporting.

·        Experience partnering with cross-functional teams such as Finance, Procurement, Architecture, and Engineering.

·        Strong analytical, reporting, and documentation skills.

·        Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence without direct authority.

·        Strong understanding of multi‑cloud financial models (AWS, GCP, OCI).

·        Experience managing SaaS cost governance for platforms such as Splunk, Dynatrace, Cisco cloud services, Salesforce, and similar tools.

·        Proven ability to establish tagging, allocation, and chargeback/showback models across cloud and SaaS ecosystems.

·        Understanding of hybrid cost models spanning on-prem, cloud infrastructure, and SaaS subscriptions.

·        Ability to communicate complex consumption and cost data clearly to executive and finance stakeholders.

·        Strong analytical, reporting, and vendor‑management skills.

·        Experience aligning cloud and SaaS financial governance to audit and compliance expectations
