Technical Architect
Position Description
We are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to join our team and drive the design of robust, enterprise grade solutions. In this role, you will lead architectural strategies across complex, multi platform environments and partner closely with engineering, security, risk, and compliance stakeholders to deliver solutions that are secure, scalable, and built to last. If you thrive at the intersection of technical leadership and enterprise delivery — translating business requirements into sound architectural direction and guiding teams through end to end solution lifecycle — this is the role for you. You'll have the opportunity to work alongside seasoned professionals, contribute to mission critical platforms, and make a real impact in a collaborative, high performing environment.
At CGI, you'll join a global technology and consulting leader with a strong footprint in financial services, where your expertise directly impacts mission critical wealth and investment platforms. We offer the stability and scale of an established firm combined with the entrepreneurial ownership mindset CGI is known for. You'll have the opportunity to ramp quickly, deliver meaningful value, collaborate with seasoned professionals, and contribute to solutions that shape the future of wealth management technology in the U.S.
We are considering candidates living in Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio or Louisiana.
Your future duties and responsibilities
. Design and architect scalable, highly available solutions using multi tier and multi platform approaches, incorporating event driven patterns and message queues to support real time data flows
. Apply SOLID principles and cloud native design patterns to deliver modular, maintainable, and extensible architectures that stand up to enterprise demands
. Serve as technical leader and architectural authority across the full solution lifecycle — translating business requirements into sound technical direction and guiding engineering teams through delivery
. Engage with a broad set of stakeholders — including security, risk, cloud engineering, and compliance teams — to ensure solutions align with governance controls, encryption standards, operational resilience requirements, and audit readiness
. Produce high quality architecture artifacts including Use Case, Sequence, and Solution Architecture diagrams, leveraging the Well Architected Framework and internal governance templates covering security controls, threat models, and data flows
. Partner with enterprise architects and security teams to validate that designs meet organizational standards end to end
. Provide technical mentorship and guidance to engineering teams throughout the engagement lifecycle
. Contribute to continuous improvement of architectural standards, design patterns, and technical best practices
. Ensure solutions meet enterprise security, compliance, and operational resilience requirements throughout the architecture lifecycle
. Operate effectively in a fast paced environment, quickly ramping up on new engagements and delivering architectural value with minimal supervision
Required qualifications to be successful in this role
. Minimum 7+ years of experience in enterprise solution architecture.
. Proven track record designing scalable, secure, cloud native solutions using SOLID principles and Well Architected Framework.
. Experience with event driven architecture, multi tier/multi platform design, and enterprise governance standards including security controls, threat models, and data flows.
. Wealth Management experience is required.
. Proven experience architecting enterprise solutions across complex, distributed, multi platform environments
. Strong command of event driven architecture, cloud native design patterns, and SOLID engineering principles
. Demonstrated ability to produce clear, governance aligned architecture documentation including Use Case, Sequence, and Solution Architecture diagrams
. Deep expertise in multi tier and multi platform solution design with a focus on scalability, security, and high availability
. Hands on experience with enterprise architecture frameworks such as the Well Architected Framework
. Experience collaborating with security, risk, cloud engineering, and compliance teams to meet governance and audit standards
. Experience working across the full solution delivery lifecycle, from requirements through production
. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills (technical and non technical audiences)
. Strong ability to challenge assumptions, manage competing priorities, and drive technical consensus across stakeholder groups
. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
. Highly organized, detail oriented, and comfortable operating independently in a fast paced enterprise environment
Desired Skills:
. Hands on experience with ArchiMate Modelling Language for Enterprise Architecture
. Knowledge of AI and cloud technologies and their application in enterprise contexts
. Familiarity with threat modeling, data flow diagrams, and security control documentation
. Prior consulting or contract based delivery experience in large enterprise environments
