Summary
Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital seeks a Creative Marketing Manager to support throughput for all marketing projects. The Creative Marketing Manager is the glue that holds the Communications & External Relations team together and the navigator that keeps us on course. As an integral member of a creative team, this critical staff member will plan, organize, and oversee the hundreds of projects that flow through the department annually. Working onsite in our Grand Rapids Campus with colleagues and external vendors, this role will promote teamwork between participants, maintain schedules and review projects to ensure budget, scope and creative quality are efficiently achieved. Must be highly detailed oriented and service driven, finding joy serving the needs and growth of the Mary Free Bed System.
Essential Job Responsibilities
Take a forward-thinking approach to creative project management by anticipating challenges, identifying opportunities and aligning marketing efforts with long-term organizational goals.
Develop innovative strategies to improve the reach and impact of marketing assets, ensuring they are effectively leveraged across multiple platforms and campaigns.
Analyze emerging marketing, design and content trends, identifying opportunities to enhance creative execution and audience engagement.
Maintain a big-picture perspective, ensuring projects not only meet immediate objectives but also contribute to broader brand and business goals.
Oversee and drive the full lifecycle of creative projects, from intake and strategy development to execution, delivery and performance analysis.
Ensure projects stay on track, on time and on budget by effectively managing timelines, priorities and resources.
Act as a central point of contact between marketing, creative, digital and external stakeholders, ensuring alignment across all teams.
Conduct project kickoff meetings, providing clear direction on objectives, creative vision and strategic goals.
Own the project management software and workflows, optimizing processes for efficiency, collaboration and scalability.
Ensure all creative projects meet brand standards, audience needs and marketing goals, while maintaining Mary Free Bed’s unique voice and identity.
Continuously evaluate and refine creative project workflows to improve efficiency, eliminate bottlenecks and streamline execution.
Introduce automation tools, AI-powered solutions and improved asset management systems to maximize the impact of creative resources.
Identify opportunities to repurpose and optimize existing creative assets, ensuring they are effectively leveraged across multiple platforms and campaigns.
Work closely with designers, copywriters, videographers and external vendors to enhance creative production processes and drive higher-quality outputs.
Conduct intake meetings with internal stakeholders to clarify objectives, expectations and strategic alignment before projects begin.
Ensure stakeholders are informed about project status, timelines and potential roadblocks, making proactive adjustments as needed.
Collaborate closely with the creative manager to ensure workload distribution and deadlines are realistic, efficient and achievable.
Communicate with external vendors, agencies and freelancers to ensure seamless project execution and high-quality deliverables.
Organize weekly project status meetings, providing transparency on key initiatives and identifying opportunities for cross-team collaboration.
Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the impact of creative projects and campaigns, using insights to optimize future efforts.
Compile results of major campaigns and special advertising efforts, identifying trends, successes and areas for improvement.
Provide regular reports on project efficiency, resource allocation and creative output, helping leadership make informed decisions.
Serve as a brand gatekeeper, ensuring all creative work aligns with Mary Free Bed’s brand standards, messaging and mission.
Develop creative solutions that enhance accessibility and inclusivity, ensuring campaigns resonate with target audience.
Partner with stakeholders to create inclusive campaigns that foster representation and accessibility.
Encourage collaborative, respectful, and culturally aware storytelling in all creative initiatives.
Educate and engage team members on equity and inclusion principles, ensuring they are integrated into creative strategies and executions.
Communicate with a variety of vendors and external stakeholders

Essential Job Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or relevant work experience
3-5 years of experience as a project manager, preferably working with high-volume creative teams
Creative thinker and inventive problem solver
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Knowledgeable about marketing tools including print, video and digital
Ability to organize assets and recall information from our asset library and archives.
Confidence in speaking to, and gathering information from, patients, clinicians, and team members across the Mary Free Bed System
Dynamic with high energy, positive attitude, and strong work ethic
Extraordinary organizational skills
