Manager – Data Architect

Responsibilities: Defining the data architecture vision required to implement the strategy consistently with other architecture domains (business, application, technical) Identify source of truth of each data domain, work with data management to develop and document data models : type of data, relations between data

Design of information architectures and complex data models aligned with enterprise strategy and related business architecture

Works closely with other architects, end users and IT to ensure that new and existing data models and databases are consistent with data architecture standards

Having expert level knowledge and experience in data modeling and database design and be able to define the required technical component to sustain the application architecture

Ensuring the completeness (fitness-for-purpose) of the architecture, in terms of adequately addressing all the pertinent concerns of its stakeholders; and the integrity of the architecture, in terms of connecting all the various views to each other, satisfactorily reconciling the conflicting concerns of different stakeholders, and showing the trade-offs made in so doing

The Data architect is a subset of Enterprise Architecture

It’s the discipline that guides data modelers in solution delivery teams for modeling standards and best practices and application design, describes scenario and drive consensus with the sponsor for a proposed solution, works with other architects, end users and IT to ensure that new and existing data databases are consistent with data architecture standard

Qualifications: Typically require a tertiary qualification in an IT discipline or related field Minimum of 5-7 years of proven data architecture experience, preferably in the financial services industry Have industry wide certification in one or more database technology Have industry wide certification in one or more Big Data environment such as Hadoop, NoSQL, BigTable, HDFS, HBase and large data sets and related technologies MapReduce, Pig, Hive, Flume, Sqoop Fluent spoken and written English & Thai skill Attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy and security
