Job Description
We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team.
New employees can potentially earn $52k in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 50-hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses.
There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives.

Machine Operator, 1st Shift
Monday - Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM plus over time, including some Saturdays.
SUMMARY
Perform machine shop and roll forming press operations on the production floor.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Operate machinery according to standard operating procedures.
- Monitor production output and quality to meet specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety protocols.
- Assist with finished products by using banders to bundle finished products.
- May operate forklift or crane.
- Assist with Break Press operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
- Frequent communication with others to exchange information.
- Frequent repetition of motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
- Frequent moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.
- Frequent lifting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directions.
- Constantly remaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periods.
- Constantly thinking and processing information.
- Constantly maintaining concentration and focus on tasks.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a manufacturing setting preferred.
- Basic knowledge of the English language
- Ability to read measurements accurately.
- Basic math skills.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- Standing for most of shift
- Frequent walking, using hands and fingers to handle objects, tools and controls.
- Frequent reaching, bending, kneeling, crouching
- Frequent use of close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and able to adjust focus.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Working near moving mechanical parts.
