Description of Work

The Administrative Specialist I, is responsible for processing information received from the Ignition Interlock Service Providers regarding the program participants and maintain incoming files. The position will also be responsible for answering inquiries about the interlock program and maintaining the filing system for the Division Ignition Interlock Oversight Program. This position is required to service customers that are required This position should consistently demonstrate good legal knowledge, effective communication skills both verbal and written and proper decorum when dealing with all parties.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities/Management Preferences

Salary Grade and Salary Range:  NC08   $39,244 - $68,679    

Management prefers applicants with the following:

  • Experience interpreting and explaining policy and procedures.
  • Experience with entering and extracting information from mainframe and/or web-based computer systems.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications: Word, Excel, Outlook. 
  • Demonstrated ability to explain findings and facts to citizens, attorneys, and government officials through clear written and oral communication.
  • Experience gathering, researching, and analyzing data/information.

Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
