Job Description Summary:

The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) provides, under medical direction, respiratory care services to patients with disorders of the cardiopulmonary system. According with physician prescription, the RCP provides diagnostic testing, therapeutic, and respiratory monitoring services.

Job Requirements, Prerequisites and Essential Functions:

EDUCATION
Graduate of a respiratory therapy program approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association (AMA) so as to qualify for examination and licensure by the California State Respiratory Care Examining Committee as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

EXPERIENCE
1 - 2 years recent experience in respiratory patient care and respiratory care technology in an accredited acute care facility preferred.

LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS
Respiratory Care Practitioner Required at hire
Reg Respiratory Therapist One-Time at hire
Basic Life Support Required at hire
Neonatal Resuscitation Provider Required at hire
Integrative Agitation Management (IAM) Required within 30 days of hire

PREREQUISITE SKILLS
1. Airway maintenance - skilled in the techniques of airway clearance in intubated and non-intubated patients.
2. Emergency Airway Management - skilled in providing and maintaining an adequate patent airway in emergency situations.
3. Medication Preparation and Administration - skilled in respiratory medications administered by aerosolization.

Compensation:

The posted pay range complies with applicable law and reflects what we reasonably expect to pay for this role. Individual pay is set by skills, experience, qualifications, and internal/market equity, consistent with MarinHealth’s compensation philosophy. Positions covered by collective bargaining agreements are governed by those agreements.
