Acute Unit Director of Nursing

Under the general direction of the Clinical Services Division Manager, manages the Acute Unit staff and directs the total patient care plan. Hires and schedules nursing and ancillary nursing staff, assists with directing the Unit’s quality assurance program; preparing yearly capital expenditure requests; reviewing, updating and establishing policies and procedures; and conducting staff meetings and mini in-services. Completes employee performance reviews. Investigates problems involving Unit staff and maintains communication with outside agencies. Participates in staffing of the multidisciplinary team and crisis intervention.
