
Dental Services Representative (Vietnamese)
Job Description
Essential Job Functions
- Assembling and confirming patient schedule, make appointment reminder calls.
- Perform clinic reception duties: greet and register patients, answer phones, screen calls, and take messages.
- Use the computerized Dentrix system and manual system to create and update patient records for bookkeeping, billing, and scheduling appointments.
- Prepare patient records and verify Member Services Department eligibility and/or medical clinic authorization.
- Undertakes all pre-authorization of treatment procedures with insurance or payors.
- Give patients estimates of treatment making sure to communicate in a clear, understandable, and respectful manner.
- With appropriate instruction, provide out-of-clinic referrals and follow-ups.
- Perform patient billing tasks that include timely electronic and manual processing of billable services, posting payments, reconciling or adjusting patient accounts, and transmissions of claims to insurances and third-party payors, etc.
- Responsible to receive payments and accurate and secure bookkeeping duties at the front desk. Ensure safekeeping and timely submission of cash collection to the Fiscal department.
- Perform administrative and clerical services like processing incoming/outgoing mail and inter-office communications and notices, fax and copying.
- Provide other support or assistance to other staff as requested, when appropriate, and if time allows, such as language interpretation, etc.
- Foster an environment that promotes trust and cooperation among patients and staff.
- Implement and enforce clinic policies and procedures, including maintenance of patient confidentiality.
- Attend staff, department, and AHS general membership meetings.
- Assist in agency advocacy and outreach activities, serve on ad hoc committees, and attend AHS organizational events, as requested and when duties allow.
- Participates in agency-wide quality improvement program processes and performance improvement teams to ensure excellence in the quality of services provided across the agency.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must show proof of high school diploma
- Must be prepared to demonstrate these skills
- Must show a strong willingness to learn and be trained in the requirements of a dental clinic work environment
- Bilingual in English and Vietnamese
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of two years of work experience in dental office front desk duties that include insurance eligibility verification, treatment pre-authorization, and patient billing.
- Some training in dental or medical terminology, preferably some formal training in dental assisting.
