Job Description

Position Summary

Franklin Pierce University invites applications for the position of Head Coach for the Women’s Softball program. This is a full-time role responsible for leading all aspects of a competitive NCAA Division II program, including recruiting, player development, program administration, and student-athlete success.
The Head Coach will provide leadership that aligns with the University’s mission, supports student-athlete academic achievement, and promotes a positive team culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of the softball program, including:
    • Practice planning and game preparation
    • Recruitment and retention of student-athletes
    • Player development and performance evaluation
  • Manage program operations:
    • Budget planning and financial oversight
    • Scheduling and travel coordination
    • Equipment and facility management
  • Ensure compliance with NCAA, conference, and University rules and regulations
  • Monitor and support student-athletes’ academic progress and personal development
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and high-performance team culture
  • Represent the University and athletic program in a professional manner on campus and externally

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • Prior collegiate coaching and recruiting experience strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of NCAA rules and compliance requirements
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Commitment to academic excellence and holistic student-athlete development
  • Ability to manage budgets and oversee program operations effectively
