Director - Sales (PubSec)
 
We are looking for a Director - Sales (Public Sector Focus) to help us support our continued growth within State, Local, and Federal government agencies. This role is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with agency stakeholders and program leaders while collaborating with our Business Development and Delivery teams to modernize constituent services. We are seeking candidates with exposure to the Salesforce delivery process (hands-on consulting experience highly preferred) who understand the security, compliance, and regulatory requirements unique to the public sector.

Role Responsibilities:
  • Engage with Government Executives, Agency Directors, and CIOs to grow our footprint and secure new prime and sub-contracting opportunities.
  • Create detailed territory plans that align with government fiscal years and legislative budget cycles to ensure consistent pipeline health.
  • Personally unearth new opportunities through RFP monitoring, agency networking, and public sector forums (e.g., NASCIO) to build long-term interagency partnerships.
  • Manage the entire relationship lifecycle—from pre-solicitation discovery and capture management to contract award and project oversight.
  • Lead discovery conversations that uncover programmatic requirements, compliance mandates, and constituent engagement goals for government initiatives.
  • Present Salesforce solutions—specifically Public Sector Solutions (PSS) and FedRAMP-authorized environments—that align with agency modernization mandates.
  • Provide professional after-sales support to ensure project transparency, high adoption, and long-term constituent success.
  • Maintain best-in-class forecasting, accounting for the longer procurement timelines and multi-year funding structures typical of government contracts.
  • Mentor and grow junior resources, providing oversight on government procurement ethics, GSA schedules, and NASPO contracts.
  • Engage with Salesforce Public Sector RVPs and AEs to drive co-prime opportunities and become a trusted advisor in the government ecosystem.
  • Partner with Coastal Leadership to align business development with Public Sector-specific delivery methodologies and security standards.
  • Work with the team to create estimates and SOWs that account for government-mandated deliverables, strict compliance reporting, and fixed-price constraints.
  • Travel as needed to support agency site visits and mission-critical briefings.
Experience/Skills Required:
  • 5+ years proven expertise as a Salesforce Delivery Consultant or similar role, with a passion for improving government services through digital transformation.
  • 5+ years of Sales or Capture Management experience is ideal; we value candidates who understand the mechanics of government buying.
  • Proven Portfolio Growth: Demonstrated success navigating RFPs, RFIs, and government procurement vehicles.
  • Deep experience in the Salesforce Ecosystem, specifically with Public Sector Solutions (PSS), Government Cloud, and FedRAMP requirements.
  • Commitment to building long-term relationships based on integrity, transparency, and the mission of public service.
  • Consultative mindset with an understanding of government funding (Grants, General Funds) and legislative processes.
  • Knowledge of the Salesforce portfolio including Mulesoft for legacy system integration and Tableau for public data transparency.
  • Ability to “project manage” a sales cycle involving Procurement Officers, Legal Counsel, and Technical Review Boards.
  • Organizational skills with a high degree of precision in formal bid submissions.
  • Enthusiastic and passionate
  • Experience with Technology: Salesforce, Zoominfo, LinkedIn
  • Must have full-time permanent US work authorization
  • Note – Determination of Senior will be based upon the candidate's previous relevant experience and depth of skills, and will be determined through our skills interview process
Additional Preferred Experience/Skills:
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred, or equivalent experience
  • Experience as a Salesforce Consultant, preferably at an implementation partner
  • Salesforce Public Sector Solutions Accredited Professional.
  • Experience with GSA Schedules, State-wide term contracts, or specialized procurement vehicles.
