Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Regular daily inspection of project sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment and compliance with HSSE national and local regulations and standards;
- Assessment and acceptance of contractors/subcontractors’ safety plans, method statements, and/or job hazard analyses;
- Verification of tools and equipment to ensure good quality;
- Promote safe practices on site;
- Create and implement safety guidelines and programs as needed;
- Carry-out drills and exercises on managing emergency situations;
- Conduct investigations on near misses, incidents or accidents;
- Ensure all HSSE relevant reports are submitted to related government agencies (DOLE, DOE, DENR, etc.);
- Record and report company mandated HSSE metrics (e.g., incidents and accidents including injuries/damages, near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, safe acts; environmental emissions, generated wastes, electricity and water usage, security incidents, etc.);
- Relay to management and respond (once approved) to workers’ HSSE concerns;
- Assist in the HSSE communications with relevant government agencies;
- Assist in government agency-mandated evaluations or inspection of the site (if needed);
- Coordinates all issues regarding pollutive emissions, hazardous materials or wastes generated or released;
- Assist with the preparation and evaluation of construction site HSSE plan(s);
- Attend project planning meetings and collaborating with construction and project managers;
- Establish and maintain HSSE communication structures;
- Test effectiveness of site emergency response plans;
Prerequisites:
- Min. DOLE SO3 qualified (accredited preferred)
- College graduate
- At least 5 yrs experience for junior level SO, at least 10 years experience for senior level SO. Experience in RE preferred.
- PCO accredited preferred, but not required
- DOLE First Aider certified preferred, but not required
- Important: Can drive and must possess a valid driver’s license
