Non-Credit Instructor - General Nursing Skills

Job Description

 

The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part-time, non-credit instructors to teach the following course: 

  • General Nursing Skills

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The ability to teach 25 hours (5 days a week for 5 hours/day in person), which includes but not limited to the following subject areas: 

  • Personal hygiene; vital signs; activities of daily living; infection control
  • Anatomy and Physiology
  • Patient Safety
  • Preparing student for industry certification as Patient Care Technician

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current registration as a NJ Licensed Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, or current certification as a Patient Care Technician 
  • Previous experience teaching adult learners
  • Three (3) years of experience working in an in-patient environment
  • Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
