Position summary

Based in Madrid, Spain, the Azure Data Engineer plays a key role in designing, implementing, and maintaining Azure-based data solutions within a global environment, ensuring performance, security, and scalability.

 

This role is ideal for someone passionate about data pipelines, SQL, and Python, and eager to support data-driven initiatives. You’ll continue developing your expertise in Azure data services while collaborating with international teams. Strong communication and teamwork skills in English and Spanish are essential.

What you will do

  • Support data ingestion, transformation, and integration pipelines using Azure Synapse, Azure Data Lake, and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Write and optimize SQL queries for data transformation, modeling, and reporting.
  • Develop Python scripts for automation and transformation.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot database performance and pipeline issues.
  • Contribute to documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in Azure Synapse and Microsoft Fabric.
  • Collaborate with Data Analytics, Governance, and Automation teams.
  • Work closely with business and functional teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
  • Provide application and systems support, resolving performance and contention issues.
  • Represent Jet Aviation across the General Dynamics network and industry groups.

Who you are

  • 3+ years of experience with Azure data services (Azure SQL, Synapse, Data Factory, Microsoft Fabric).
  • Basic understanding of Microsoft Fabric in modern data architecture.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Python.
  • Familiarity with data modeling and ETL processes.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills in a multicultural environment.
  • Professional English proficiency (B2 or higher).

Desired characteristics

  • Understanding of Azure data services, pipelines, and medallion architecture.
  • Certification in Azure Data Engineer Associate (DP-203 / DP-700) is a strong plus.
  • Basic knowledge of Power BI or Tableau.
