Reports to: Long Term Care Director
FLSA Classification: PRN, Hourly
Pioneers Medical Center will lead the effort to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.
Essential Functions
- Prepares hair for styling by analyzing hair condition
- Shampoo, condition, and treat hair and scalp
- Produce’s resident’s desired effect, makes recommendations.
- Maintain nail care and facial hair
- Maintains stock and supplies
- Other Duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited aesthetics program.
- Current, unrestricted licensure as an esthetician or hairstylist with DORA. Other licenses such as cosmetology or nail technician may be considered.
- Hair stylist experience, especially with geriatric residents, preferred.
- Experience with long term care /geriatric residents desired.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (preferred; required within four months of date of employment or transfer). PMC offers classes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Cosmetology principles.
- Ability to maintain current education for licenses and esthetics training.

- Must be able to remain in a stationary positon 50% of the time.
- Must be able to move and traverse about the facility 50% of the time.
- Frequently transport objects weighing up to 50lbs - Occasionally position objects weighing up to 100lbs.
- Must be able to communicate and exchange information in a way others will understand.
- Must be able to recognize details such as color and depth within a few feet of the observer.
- Frequently operates computers, machinery, and other healthcare equipment.
- Constantly positions self to complete essential functions.
- May be required to wear N95s or PAPRs up to 80% of the shift.
