Summer Registered Nurse- ESY 2026

A vacancy exists for a Registered Nurse for the Extended School Year program within the Student Services Division of the Chester County Intermediate Unit. This position works with our school age students attending the Engle Education Center in West Grove, PA. This position is temporary for the duration of the summer program only.

Schedule: 

• Program Dates: June 29th - July 23rd
• 8:00 AM - 2:30 PM (6.5 hours a day)
• Monday - Thursday

Qualifications:

• Current registered nurse licensure required
• CPR/First Aid certification required
• Current police, child abuse & FBI fingerprint clearances
• Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by CCIU upon hire)
• Experience in a school setting with special education students preferred

Duties & Responsibilities:
The school nurse is responsible for implementing student health plans for secondary students (including special education students and health plans identified in IEPs) and providing first aid and emergency care within standing order guidelines for accidental injuries and illness. The position will also be responsible for administering medications as prescribed by a doctor or requested by a parent.

Hourly Rate: (Support Contract)
Based on years of experience
Rates until 6/30 -EOD: $29.91 - $37.39
Rates 7/1 and after follow the following scale

• Step 1 - $31.55
• Step 2 - $32.49
• Step 3 - $33.62
• Step 4 - $34.75
• Step 5 - $35.89
• Step 6 - $37.02
• Step 7 - $38.15
