K-8 LBS1 Learning Support Specialist

Become a part of the Viking family! St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School inPeoria, ILis seeking a Learning Support Teacher (LBS1) to join our team for the 2026-2027 school year. Applicants must be in support of the strong Catholic mission and have a passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs through collaboration, classroom support, and targeted instruction. This role supports students with ISP/IEP goals, assists teachers with implementing accommodations, and provides targeting intervention for students with identified needs. This position works closely with classroom teachers, interventionists, and administration to ensure all students are supported academically, socially, and emotionally.

Essential Responsibilities:
- Recognizes and supports the mission of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic School by speaking, acting, and instructing consistent with the teachings of the Catholic Church
- Helps build the school's faith community through participation in school, religious, and service activities
- Attends meetings with the local district and supports the implementation of IEP/ISP accommodations and modifications for students in K-8
- Team teaches in classrooms to assist teachers in supporting students with diverse learning needs
- Provides small-group or individual interventions and/or accommodations when needed
- Supports students in developing skills such as self-regulation, problem-solving, study skills, and resilience
- Assists with the development and implementation of behavior supports and student intervention plans
- Participates in student supporting meetings, faculty meetings, and professional collaboration
- Supports school safety procedures, mandated reporting requirements, and crisis response as needed
- Continues to participate in professional development by attending seminars, workshops or professional meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Current Professional Educators License
- LBS1 endorsement or ability to obtain
- Experience working with children in a school setting preferred
Compensation and Benefits:
- Salary Range: $36,000-$65,000
