About the Role
- The Substitute Teacher steps into the classroom to deliver pre-planned lessons, maintain a productive learning environment, and support the academic and spiritual growth of students. This role upholds our mission to grow disciples by fostering a nurturing and faith-centered classroom environment.
What You Will Do
- Instruction: Follow the lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher to deliver engaging and effective instruction.
- Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment that supports learning.
- Faith Integration: Uphold and model Catholic teachings and values in daily interactions.
- Support: Assist students with their academic needs and provide encouragement throughout the day.
- Communication: Report any significant events or concerns to the school administration.
What You Need
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and active Illinois Substitute Certification: https://www.isbe.net/Documents/how-become-sub-teacher.pdf
- Commitment to Catholic values and the mission of Catholic education
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Top Candidates Will Also Have
- Experience teaching in a Catholic school or faith-based setting
- Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability to different teaching environments
