About Gestalt Community Schools

Gestalt Community Schools (GCS) is a system of K-12 college-preparatory charter schools in targeted Tennessee communities. GCS schools provide strong academic outcomes for their scholars through initiatives including meaningful community involvement. GCS catalyzes community leadership to help revitalize the neighborhood as it operates its schools in that community. Instead of debating whether education impacts the community or vice versa, GCS believes that the most effective method to support student achievement is an integration of education and community (a true "gestalt").

About the Position

Power Center Academy Elementary School is seeking an elementary level academic literacy and numeracy interventionist(s) with the ability to direct the academic program activities of K-1 scholars. The ideal candidate(s) will be knowledgeable in the following areas:

· Intervention strategies necessary to support scholar academic success, in accordance with Title I.

· Experience with the development of differentiated academic exercises and class activities.

· Will support numeracy instruction by working with small groups, using digital and print resources, and making decisions based on data. Additional resources will be provided by academic and RTI grouping.

· Concentrates efforts with small groups of students and individuals, as necessary.

· Compiles, prepares, and organizes materials and classroom for instruction and other learning activities.

· Assists teachers with academic instruction, transitions, and the instruction of daily routines, skills, and concepts as needed.

· Provides instructional support and reinforcement to students identified in need of tutoring services and RTI intervention and supports the RTI fidelity monitoring and related data and systems. 

· Experience in Special Education preferred, but not required.

· Utilizes effective instructional practices, behavior management strategies, assessment techniques and directed teaching methods. 

· Collects and compiles statistical data as needed for accountability and program development.

· Collects, organizes and completes information necessary for reports and evaluation.

· Communicates and collaborates effectively with teachers, charter management staff and the school administrators.
