Job Description

Description: Roseville Area Schools has a vacancy for a .3 FTE ATPPS Lead Teacher in Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE). The role of the ATPPS Lead Teacher is to build capacity in self and others to increase effective, equitable teacher practices and improve student learning for all students. This position begins August 24, 2026.

ATPPS Lead Teacher responsibilities:

Professional Development:

  • Facilitate ongoing site-based job-embedded professional development to help staff improve instructional skills and become more culturally responsive. Professional development is designed to improve content knowledge and instructional skills of all licensed staff members.
    • Provide equity focused coaching to collaborative teams and individual teachers.
    • Faciliate professional development that is focused on equity and inclusion and include culturally responsive and inclusive instructional methods.
    • Facilitate professional development regularly during the school day through individual, team, and schoolwide learning activities.

Professional Learning Communities (PLC):

  • Work with the principal/site administrator to:
    • Monitor PLC implementation.
    • Monitor work of the collaborative teams.
    • Support collaborative teams to be high functioning teams that are focused on racial equity and achievement.
    • Guide teams in setting collaborative team meeting agendas.
    • Help collaborative teams to identify and address student needs.
    • Support and assist collaborative teams insetting collaborative team goals and plans.
      • Provide support in accessing and analyzing baseline data and setting a goal target.
      • Support and guide teams on data collection, effective use of data analysis protocols with emphasis on isolating race, and use of data to inform instruction.
      • Provide guidance in choosing a target group.
      • Ensure that team goals meet the SMART goal characteristics.
      • Help teams develop team goals that are aligned with the site goal and school improvement plan.
    • Support teams in developing and implementing a plan for achieving the team goal.
      • Help identify and research evidence-based and culturally responsive practices/strategies related to the team's SMART goal.
      • Coach teachers in the implementation of new practices and strategies.
      • Help teams monitor their progress towards the goal and their implementation of the plan.
      • Remind teachers to complete mid and end of year team goal reflections.

Individual Growth and Development Plan (IGDP)/Teacher Growth Area

  • Assist teachers in setting a professional growth goal, aligned to the Roseville Area Schools Performance Standards and grounded in the district vision of equity in all we do.
  • Observe each teacher once per year and collect objective performance data aligned to the teacher's professional growth goal.
    • Each observation includes a pre and post conference.
  • Facilitates the teacher's reflection on their observation and progress towards their professional growth goal.
  • Maintain records of each teacher's observations (Lead Teacher observations and Peer of choice observations).
  • Remind teachers to complete mid and end of year teacher growth reflections.

Qualifications:

  • A MN Teaching License is required
  • Advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years teaching experience
  • Demonstrated commitment to the equitable education of all students
  • Successful experience in leadership roles
  • Successful experience with using data to inform instructional decision making
  • Knowledge and understanding of Roseville Area Schools' ATPPS program, Performance Standards, and Teacher Growth, Development and Evaluation system (training will be provided).
  • Experience implementing/leading Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Restorative Circles and whole building professional development.

Compensation: Minimum full year, full time starting salary is $53,085 (prorated based on FTE). Placement on the salary schedule is based on education and experience and collective bargaining guidelines. See teacher matrix. Please contact HR with questions.
