Job Goal:
To provide armed security at events or locations to help ensure a safe environment for students, staff and the public.
Performance Responsibilities:
Terms of Employment
Off-duty Police Officers will be employed for a nine (9) month position. The work year will be established annually by the Board of Education and the salary is established by the Memorandum of Understanding with the Independence Police Department and salary scale determined by the Kansas City, MO Police Department.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board of Education policy by the immediate supervisor.

To provide armed security at events or locations to help ensure a safe environment for students, staff and the public.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Observe audience during activities to prevent disturbances before they happen
- Remain on post until relieved or end of duty
- Pleasant, outgoing personality
- Deter or prevent crimes
- Arrest and detain those who choose to violate state and local laws
- Complete accurate reports when and if an incident occurs that requires documentation
- Demonstrate dependability by being on time
- Display a good attitude, work ethic and ability to make good decisions regarding crowd control and maintaining a safe environment.
- Complete other duties as defined and assigned.
