Qualifications:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited university

Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned (preferred)

Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned

Special Knowledge/Skills:

Knowledge of core academic subject assigned

General knowledge of curriculum and instruction

Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
2. Help students analyze and improve study methods and habits.
3. Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and Student Handbook.
4. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
5. Ability to work with students in small groups to reinforce classroom instruction.
6. Assist classroom teacher in managing student behavior.
7. Assist classroom teacher in developing student interventions.
8. Assist in the monitoring and evaluation of student data.
9. Attend planning sessions as needed.
