Job Description
The Butts County School System is seeking applicants for a Mechanic in the Butts County School System's Transportation Department.
Position Summary:
Repairs, maintains and overhauls fleet of school buses.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
Must possess or obtain a valid commercial drivers license (CDL) with P (Passenger) and S (School Bus) endorsements within 12 months of employment.

Work Days: 230
Daily Hours: 8
Pay Grade: Grade II/Step

- Performs various repairs, maintenance and modifications to school buses
- Examines vehicles and assesses the nature and extent of damage or malfunction
- Plans work and repairs procedures
- Prepares paperwork for all repairs
- Transfers buses as needed
- Maintains work area
- Performs other duties as assigned
