ANNOUNCEMENT: POSITION OPENING  

The Board of Education is seeking applications for the 2026-2027 school year for the following position:

TEACHER OF THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING
(10 Months � Certificated)
Union Street School for the Deaf 
 
Qualifications:

1. Possess a New Jersey DOE certificate Teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing
2. TOD: Sign Language Communication � preferred; will consider TOD: Oral/Aural Communication
3. New Jersey DOE elementary education endorsement � required
4. Knowledge of AVT techniques and sign language communication � preferred
5. Background working with hearing impaired students � preferred
6. Experience working with Deaf/Hard of Hearing students � preferred
7. Experience working with Deaf+ students � preferred
8. New Jersey residence within one (1) year from date of hire

Compensation Rate/Range: $73,690 - $111,682
